New Cherokee 2019 First Drive
Prepare for the future with the Cherokee 2019. Setting the bar for midsize sedans, the New Cherokee 2019 First Drive has been redesigned with three powertrain options. The base LX model for the Cherokee 2019 is powered by a 2.4-liter I-4 engine that produces 184 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque and is rated at an EPA-estimated 26/32 mpg city/highway with front-wheel drive and 25/31 mpg with all-wheel drive.

Moving up to the Cherokee 2019 EX-L trim adds a power operated passenger seat, a 10-speaker audio system, memory function for the driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped shift knob, leather upholstery, and an optional navigation system. The range-topping Cherokee 2019 Touring grade adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a head-up display, adaptive dampers, full LED headlights, ventilated and heated front seats, wireless charging, heated rear seats, and parking sensors.
In a 2018 First Test, we noted that when the midsize sedan is equipped with the optional 2.0-liter turbo-four, the Cherokee 2019 offers strong acceleration, making it slightly quicker than its V-6-powered predecessor. The Cherokee 2019 provides more cargo room than most in its class and has easy-folding second-row seats. We like the modern design of the Cherokee 2019 but wished the center screen was a little larger and was canted toward the driver.

But this time, we have no hesitation in recommending the Cherokee 2019 to enthusiasts as well as our automotively apathetic friends and family. Road noise, on the other hand, continues to be an issue in the Cherokee 2019. The interior is a class above with high-quality materials everywhere.
